Broken

This artwork was created in my final semester of high school art apart of my body of work with the theme of Torn. Throughout the year I explored a variety of mediums to express my ideas. Inspired by the style of the old masters such as Vermeer and Rembrandt I emulated a chiaroscuro style. In broken I have used a more literal presentation of pain. Expressed by the tear streaming down her face. This is a more obvious, and a lot harder for someone to miss. What was seen on the inside in Falling, is now seen on the outside. She has snapped and become broken.
